These seemed like a smart thing to keep around with all the rain lately. I liked that they stay flat for storage and do not take up much room in the garage. The setup looks simple since you just add water instead of dealing with filling traditional sandbags. I picked these more for peace of mind and emergency prep, and they seem useful to have ready before storm season gets messy.

We bought the VEVOR Flood Barrier 6 Pack because our detached garage sits at the bottom of a hill and during heavy rain our French drains sometimes can’t keep up. We needed something quick to help redirect water before it started pooling near the garage doors. These were actually really easy to set up and worked better than I expected. Once filled, they stay in place well and help slow down and divert the water flow during storms. We’ve already used them a few times during heavy rain and they definitely helped reduce the amount of water making its way toward the garage. The material feels durable and reusable, which was important since we plan to keep them on hand for future storms. They also store fairly easily when not in use. Overall, these gave us some extra peace of mind during bad weather and have been a practical solution for our drainage issues.

I want to encourage anyone that has water runoff issues to consider getting these as backup protection. However, I think they fall short as actual flood barrier protection. As shown on the webpage, when wet they are only less than half as high as a typical sandbag. They are quite heavy when soaked and water seeping under them, especially when used on a flat surface like a driveway, is unlikely. The manufacturer does not state they are reusable, but leaving a soaked one sitting in the sun may dry it out so it can be reused. Their big advantage is prior to deployment and getting soaked, which is necessary for them to be effective, they are very compact, light weight, easily stored and quickly deployed without any advance preparation, all features not found in traditional sandbags. They are a good value for insurance against minor flooding especially against garage doors.

The VEVOR flood barrier bags are a great invention. I live in SWFL on the gulf coast and we have hurricanes and tropical storms quite regularly, it is a part of living in paradise. We are used to getting sandbags ready to keep your garage from getting floodwaters in it, or boarding up first floors for wind driven water in the seems of our windows. Wow I was so excited to see these barrier bags. The bags come in a 6 pack. They are dry and compact when they come shipped to your home. The bags are a black plastic with tight mesh so water can come into the bag and activate the barriers. The theory is you will stack the bags along the bottom of your door frames, garage door, or sliding doors. When the waters start to rise it will soak into the bags and the bags will make a water seal at the level you have placed them. ***From past experience I will suggest that you place a water proof barrier of plastic sheathing or tarp under the bags and then up and the wall and hang over the top. This will help to keep water from getting in any gaps you may have left unprotected. I have not tried these with a hose because this will take forever to dry back out but I will say after laying them out it is pretty obvious they will work for one or two entry doors at our house. I hope they will just sit in my hurricane supplies but I feel confident they will work. They are a great value and keep you from busting your back filling up and moving sand bags. So easy to use just set up and wait for them to get wet. They can be dried out and used again for the next emergency.

These flood barrier bags are great and durable. They're also lightweight, easy to use and perfect here in Florida. They're a one time use only. Not bad for the price, i do recommend these floos barrier bags.

Used in front of garage door during heavy rain. Does the job.

I got these to put in front of my basement garage door. It used to leak under my door when it rained a lot. Since I have placed these in front of my 12 foot garage door I have not had a drop of water come under my door. It stopped it completely. I ordered more to finish putting all the way across my basement wall where my walk in door is. I would recommend these flood barriers to anyone that had a water problem of any kind. They have been out there for over three months still working like they was new.

The material feels durable enough to hold together while blocking water around doors, garages, or basement areas. They are not magic barriers that stop massive flooding completely, but they definitely help redirect or slow down water intrusion. Best to have them ready before severe weather hits instead of waiting until the last minute. Practical emergency item that stores compactly when not in use.
