The motor sparked and the lathe is inoperative after q hour of use. I wasted my money on this purchase. Vevor had poor customer service. Don't buy equipment from them

Avoid. The good: * It runs. * It's cheap. The bad: * The tools are too large for the tool post, you'll need to grind your own or get an aftermarket tool post. * The motor screams like it's going to fail very very soon * The tail stock quill was literally painted into the tailstock assembly, I had to break the paint to remove it and grind it clean * It's nowhere near straight. There aren't enough adjustment screws to get it straight. * You don't need a spring pass to get a clean cut, you need 20 passes because the tool deflection is so bad even with 0.025mm passes * Backlash on the control wheels is ridiculous. 2 full turns of the cross slide wheel to take up the slack * I can't apply enough pressure to get a knurling tool to cut BRASS because the cross slide flexes too much

I purchased this lathe two years ago. Over these last two years, I have discovered that: -The ways are not nicely ground. The surface is relatively rough and a lip was left over the entire bed. A file will easily cut them, I don't think that they're very hard. -The headstock casting was bad. The bore for the bearings didn't clean up and the bearings are not properly supported. -The retaining system for the saddle is a poor design. That's more set by the original design, but the thickness of the ways to-underside where the retaining strips are isn't consistent across the length of the bed. -The gibs on the the compound came bent. -The saddle isn't flat. It's admitted close to flat, but it has a slight rock in it. -The motor isn't brushless on the one I got. As far as I have been able to use it, which is almost none, it has worked, but it was a lie to me. -The lead screw has no shear pin. Mine is now slightly bent. My fault, but still a design failure. The only good part that actually worked properly out of the box was the cross slide. It was adjusted properly and is smooth. The only other good part is the dials on the compound and cross slide. They function as you would want. In general, it's clear to me that the lathe I got was built out of parts that didn't meet spec. It's been a total lemon.

I've had more downtime with this heavy paper weight then I've had of use. First the belt, then the cover over the chuck, now the lead screw broke when I was assembling after advised to disassemble to make sure everything was tight as the y axis would reverse when trying to feed with the micro y axis. I should have returned it when I had the chance. Save up and buy a reputable brand. Seems like others have had a better experience than I have. Glad for them, I regret buying this for sure.

After over 2 months, item never arrived, ZERO tracking information, horrible customer service experience with no help only automated responses GET YOU ACT TOGETHER VEVOR!!!! LEARN HOW TO GIVE VALID INFORMATION!!

Do not expect to use this lathe right out of the box. It requires extensive cleaning and adjustment before the first use. Shipping packaging is poor so expect to do shipping related repairs. tooling is all but useless. With a few inexpensive changes in the design the lathe could have been much better. I can see that I will need to spent at least another $400 to make this lathe usable.
