I bought these suction cups to hold a piece of tempered, laminated glass in place during construction of a koi pond. The grip was completely adequate to hold the 143 pound piece of glass securely and in fact it was a little difficult to get them to release the grip. I had to work a scraper tool between the glass and the rubber cup after releasing the pressure to remove the cups. If I needed this tool again, I would not hesitate to purchase these
