I was skeptical about this auger, but it works well. Our soil is either a brick when dry and greased ice when wet (red clay). I pre drilled holes using a bulb planter but it didn’t seem to need it. It did take a LONG time to get the thing started. It would not start with the lever in the start setting, but I think the switch is backwards. Regardless, once I got it running it did a great job. For the price, it was cheaper to buy this than rent one. I wish it had a reverse, but for the price I can work without it. As others have said it CAN and WILL get away from you if you’re not careful. Take it slow and it’ll be fine.

GOT THIS POPST HOLE DIGGER TO PUT UP SOME PRIVECY FENCE. PUT IT TOGETHER PUT GAS IN AND AWAY I WENT. WORKS GREAT, RUNS GREAT. HAVE NO ISSUES STARTING.

Fast , string , exceeded all exoectations . Dug 40 inches deep 15 inch square holes by drilling center and 4 cirners down . Drills to 3 foot deep 8 incges around in brown dirt in on 5 seconds or so . Maybe less .

Great machine. Was very surprised at the power. Went through packed gravel then hard packed red clay with ease. Highly recommended

This auger was amazing. Right out the box just add 2 stroke gas and fired right up. Small amount of assembly was required but way less than expected. Best bang for your buck and very strong auger. Highly reccomend!

Heb deze grondboor aangeschaft voor het plaatsen van een schutting, voor deze prijs kan je er niet tegen op huren. Wel na drie keer de bougie moeten vervangen omdat de afstand tussen elektroden niet voordiende was. Daarna geen problemen meer gehad ( reserve bougie en sleutel zaten erbij. Een klein negatief puntje dat zijn de R-Clips waar de pennen mee geborgd zitten. Op dat vlak kan men wel iets verbeteren aangezien deze r-clips zo nu en dat er af vlogen, en niet makkelijk zijn terug te vinden in het net opgegraven zand..foto toegevoegd ter verbetering van de R-Clips

The auger works great, after some fiddling. Upon first start-up, the RPMs were too high and we couldn't get the bit to stop spinning. The reason is because the throttle cable would not allow the throttle arm to fully return against the idle speed adjustment screw; the cable isn't long enough. So, I removed the cover, tilted and lifted the cable-end out of its hole in the throttle arm and moved it back one hole. Problem solved. I don't understand how it left the factory like this, especially considering that I bought two of these augers, and both had the same problem. Easy fix, but odd and unpleasant surprise upon first start-up.
