Good but could be better
So I’ve had this lathe for about three weeks. Since then I have had a few issues with it. Nothing major but until I fixed the little things I couldn’t feel confident using it.
1. When using the auto feed, the forward cut was good, then if I hit the return feed it had a deeper cut then the first. I had to make a brass shim that helped the glide plate from shifting
2. The auto feed threaded bar was touching the Manuel crank feed gear. I used a square razor blade as a shim to bring the threaded bar out just enough it doesn’t touch the gear. Razors blades make great shims btw.
3. It took some fine tuning on the tension screws to find that firm but easy turning of the cutting measurement dial.
Now that these things are tweaked this machine does a great work

Not As Expected. Bummer.
I don't recommend this machine. Seems like a good deal, but it's not. You cannot operate it on a purely manual basis. You must use the digital interface to use many features considered standard on comparable machines from competitors like Harbor Freight and Grizzly. You can't even hit the green power button to start it. It all must run through the digital interface. That would be fine if the instruction manual was accurate, but THE MANUAL IS NOT ACCURATE. It is 27 pages of poorly translated instructions on an interface that does not match what comes with the machine.
Want to mount it to a workbench and level the machine? Don't bother with the chip tray. The tray has two bolt holes. The bed needs four and the two in the tray collide with the bed, so you have to modify it all. 38mm spindle bore? No. Try 35mm. Want to align the tailstock? Photos show four set screws on the left and right sides with one on the front and back sides (6 total). Nope. Try a single screw on the right side and one front and back (3 screws, vs the 6 advertised). Drastically lower adjustability compared to the advertised product. The machine was assembled before it was painted. All of the moving parts have overspray paint under the rust-preventative coat.
I'm a machinist, & knew it would take a good bit of work. I had low expectations. It was intended as a dedicated drilling machine for long stock. The inability to manually operate the power feed via leadscrew engagement is a huge dealbreaker. It's purely digital, and while the operation manual matches the website, they don't match the machine. I'll sort it out, but this is not the machine for a beginner. You need manual and cnc based skills for such a rudimentary 'jog' system and no reference manual.

Waiting to see how they'll fix this
For some reason the photos cannot be uploaded or be taken directly here. I'm suspicious of this. Sending customer service photos was no issue. So you'll have to take my word
I'll gladly recant this statement if the customer service team facilitates a swap for another. But this one is not good.
It seemed like a good deal, arrived with obvious rust forming on multiple parts. The carriage retaining plates were rusty and cracked at thinnest part of their castings. The gear that runs with the rack had cracks on to of the teeth running from root to root. The little plastic window was broken. The spindle bore is so rough it's kind of crazy it's even possible. And on top of that won't even turn on. Waiting for there team to get back to me with a solution i was told itll take 48 hours to review this case. I borrowed the 1200 with Affirm on an impulse due to its size and having an electric lead screw included.
I was expecting to have to tune it up. Deburr it, check all the sliding surfaces etc. I'm an industrial machine rebuilder/machinist by trade and just wanted a little something at home for small projects and what not. But the fact that it doesn't even turn on makes me want to just either swap or return it, I've liked other vevor products but at this moment I'm very disappointed
