Works well. Has more power and is more precise out of the box than I was expecting. The shipping took several weeks longer than advertised, when I contacted Vevor they said it was lost and offered a refund, then it finally arrived, so no refund. Weeks of precious project time were tied up in waiting for it to arrive. It seems to be a good machine, though time will tell. Just don't expect it to arrive without significant delay.

Received the boxed lathe 2weeks ago, it is still in the box.the carrier had the box in his vehicle “up on end”, so anything loose in the box was subject to gravity. Would be a good idea to mark the crate “THIS SIDE UP”. The tail stock was not secured tight enough prior to shipment and was flopping around inside of the box. I expect some damage. When do a set up and use it I will contact you with a review. Thanks.

For a benchtop mounted little lathe that sits in the tool room , not too bad. Making a few one off parts or cleaning up some parts with a little tlc. The items that come with the unit don't make much sense though. I comes with a solid head stock center. No center dog plate though. It does not come with a live center or drill chuck for the tail stock. Easy to find but really... the dial scales are for the most part just for looks, have you mic handy for sure. The tail stock also is not centered, elevation is close but favors the front of the machine. Looking into how I can fix this. I gave 3 stars because of what it came with, it would have been 4 stars just for having the basic peices and it turns stuff pretty consistent. So for what we use it for and knowing it is a toy on steroids it is overall a fair deal.. In closing you are not going to push this unit, account for some time and enjoy coffee maybe. You will have plenty of time

As many havve noted, you will need to spend a fair amount of time pulling this apart, cleaning and adjusting it to get it operational. I did replace the tool holder with a quick release, and had to replace the bearings on the tensioner/speed pulley as they became extremely lumpy after a couple of months. I have resolved most of the issues with this item but still have a vibration between 900 and 1000 rpm that I cannot track down. Works fine either side of this range. Once set up I have been able to make a number of parts and a few tools so it does what I need. I should note that I am a newby to this so watched a lot of videos on how to set up and use the lathe ( a big shout out to Quinn at Blondihacks for her excellent vids!). Would I buy again? Not sure. Overall I am happy with what I can do now with it but it is a lot of work to get dialled in and the vibration is a bit of an irritation. My biggest complaint about this model is that I am unable to find a steady rest that fits this unit anywhere on line, and Vevor does not supply. The are available for other units though so that might be a deal breaker for you.

I ordered this and they didn't ship it out. I told them I wanted to cancel the order and the service rep. Told me if I would wait and not cancel that I would receive a refund of $159.00 when I finally received it. Now no one responds to my question about when I will receive the refund

Lathe was not bolted down to the pallet. The nuts were several turns backed off causing it to bounce around in the crate. The back panel was damaged, the emergency stop was broke off and laying in the bottom of the crate and there was two deep gashes in the bed about halfway down. No lay should ever be sold without a live center for the tailstock and a Jacob's Chuck for the tail stock. Machine is a little noisy when turned on but I have been smoothing it up and making adjustments to make it cut the way it should. Put a set of indexable carbide tools on it and it is now cutting well. Need to specify that the machine does not cut steel. It cuts metals as advertised which includes aluminum, brass and bronze. Pictures would not upload because the file format is too large. Should send out a link large enough to take photo uploads. I had five to submit the damage!

I eard many times a inexpensive lathe requires a top notch milling machine. I now agree. I had to rebuild most of the slides or file away just to be able to use the slide from chuck to tail piece. The talpiece would nor center so I milled it and added 6 centering screws. The motor used to run fine but after a dozen hours it started to run from 0 to 300 rpm then stop and would only start at 900 rpm if I turned the potentiometer enough so I adde a 1000 watt motor and could not remove the original motor since it is embeded in the headstock...I now love it but would need to selll it 4k to get time and investment. I DID UPGRADE FOR HOBBY AND COULD HAVE USED IT AS WAS. But It would not be as precise as it is now... woul I buy another one and work on it to make it this good.... yep ! I WROTE TO SERVICE ABOUT TOOL POST BEING TOO HIGH AND NEVER GOT A RETURN BUT I INSTALLED A QUICH CHANGE AND WORS FINE NOW.

I purchased a lathe but it was never delivered. Vevor made no attempt to find it. Vevor solved the problem by issuing me a refund. I never asked for a refund. I just wanted the item.
