I’ve used this as a garden barrier to cut down on weeding. Definitely want to wait for a day without wind, especially if you’re by yourself. It rolls out smoothly and I use a kitchen torch to cut away from the roll. I buy the metal stakes with plastic buttons to keep the material down but you could also use rocks, timbers, etc. it blocks out sunlight well so the ground beneath doesn’t become weedy.
I use the torch to burn small hole in for either transplanting plants or direct seeding into the soil below. Just watch out because snakes love to lie under the tarps and will sometimes come out of the freshly made holes in the tarp! The material held up great over winter and I’m planting into the same spots this year. Very happy with this product!
