I bought this set to obtain some of the fine metric sizes, and to double up on some common metric sizes. The steel is a chrome moly type tools steel (NOT HSS) and done in typical chinese quality for the price range. I found 6 of the taps, and 4 of the dies were unusable due to malformed thread, or manufacturing defects (thread not square to axis, burrs in machining hardened in place, cutting edges not formed properly) Most of the smaller size taps (say 5mm or less) were not a sharp as a P&N/ SUtton HSS tap, but also considerably cheaper - so resharpen, or use with care. Sizes above 5mm were generally OK and those bigger than 9mm were comparable to the older kincrome sets. Tap wrenches, die stocks appear to be steel under the paint, so should be adequate. I would reccomend for 5mm and up in non ferrous metal work, but go gentle in steel or smaller sizes. For a one off unusual size it may be price effective, but if tapping a lot of 6,8,10,12mm holes, it would be worth upgrading the taps to HSS based ones. NOTE - After sales service - Vevor obvioulsy don't really understand how these tools are used, but their sales support people really tried to sort this out, and did try to substitute the faulty taps/ dies, but found their floor stock had similar issues. They escalated to their supplier, and compensated me for the unusuable components

The cases seem to me not to fit the tap and die were scattered all over when you open the lid. It seems to me to work just fine.

Fantastic set, great price, heavy duty case. You could buy a better set but it would cost you a lot more.

Wanted a good set, but also one that included an M11x1 which is an odd sizing but was something I needed to use straight away. Taps are better than average but not presto sharp which is to be expected. Dies are not great but work (mainly smaller sizing has machining burrs swarf left behind and inconsistencies) they clean up but it's not what you expect . The set came particularly handy this week when my vevor slip roller arrived and was terrible quality. I had to use the set to chase 2 or the 3 adjusting screws and retap one casting. Slip roller I would avoid.

Very handy set of tools.Tap and dye. Good quality. Good set for its price. The company has good aftersales communication and response when you experience quality issues. Highly recommended.

The few taps and dies I have used have preformed as expected. They seem to be of good quality steel and have cut good threads. The adjustable tap wrenches feel cheap and the threads are very loose. The included screw extractor set is a nice addition but I found the largest extractor wasn't hardened as it deformed when trying to remove a burr in a nut. Using a hand file it cut right into it. I bought the set to have all the sizes organized in one case but I found each time I opened it everything was all jumbled together. 6 of the taps always fell out so I used silicone tape to give them a tighter fit in their slots. The die set was packaged in bubble wrap in a box and I cut the bubble wrap using the case as a template. This placed over the dies when the case is closed keeps them in their respected positions. Now it can be opened and everything is where it belongs. As I have only used maybe 6 of the taps and 2 of the dies I've had limited use and time will tell if the rest are of good quality.

Comprehensive range of excellent value. Both taper and plug for each size make it most useful. The case tries to keeps things tidy. A sponge sheet between the two halves of the box would help to keep all in their place.

You can't complain for the money, it's a cheap alloy tap and die set, but it is very comprehensive and beats having to buy a new tap every time you need to run a thread for a different pitch screw. Well worth it.

I have yet to use the taps and dies but on receipt and checking them out- The good: A very comprehensive set which will cover all my metric thread needs. Case to hold all the items in. The Not so good: The dies had a lot of swarf left in them - will sadly really need a decent clean and flush before use. The Tap&Die holder handle threads are not a quality tight smooth fit, rather loose, could be better. Some items are a very tight fit (too tight) a fit in the case, good to not have things loose, but not so good when they are difficult to extract. Not sure what the "The storage case comes with pearl cotton cushioning, providing excellent shock absorption and cushioning properties" specification is about, I found no such material in the case holder slots, just plain plastic.
