I bought this diesel heater for my boat to keep it warm in the winter because one of my friends has one that he says works great. His is the portable suitcase kind and he just puts it out on the deck of his sailboat in the cockpit area but I purchased this one to permanently install. It works really well a lot better than the electric heat I had before but my one issue with it is the software settings that you cannot change on the thermostat mode. It will run continuously because it will turn itself down to a very low power level that's not enough to raise the temperature even when it's 6-7° below your set temperature. 6-7° is a lot on a heating system and the tolerances are actually even more than that. Vevor should would do a firmware update and change it to where it will actually go to a higher power level than one or two when it's six or seven degrees below your set temperature because it should increase in power level if you're below the set temperature and it's not increasing any. Even if they put a delay in that if the thermostat doesn't detect the temperature change in say 5 minutes it should increase the power level by one until a increase is detected at least. M9st h9.e thermostats now have a 1 degree tolerance when calling for heat. Older thermostats were 2 or 3 degrees. The body will notice small differences in temperature change. So far the thermostat has been useless and I have to manually control the unit all the time to keep a stable temperature on my boat.

The first one that arrived didn't work, wouldn't power up. It was a project to finally get a replacement. It took 2 weeks...finally. The 2nd one worked perfectly and performed better than expected. The reason it's not a 5 star is the aggravation factor of dealing with an email return, very poor process. Finally, the live chat worked, no customer service phone #.

Price is good... but here's the down side..... Its very loud... the fuel pump makes a loud bang, bang, bang sound. I read this before, but thought, how bad could it be? Trust me, its loud and annoying. The remote and the controls in general are so bad, its almost disfunctional. Maybe if you use it daily, you could figure out and remember all the crap you need to do, just to adjust the temperature... but for me, I don't use it often, so when I do, its a mission to set the temperature. If you are running the exhaust pipe through anything flammable, you're going to need some sort of heat shield. I was running mine through wall that was sheathed with plywood and quickly realized that it was going to burn the place down. But, all that said, it does give off some nice heat for a fishing hut or small shed.

Priming takes a while - by taking the cover off, you can watch the fuel travel from the reservoir to the burner thru the clear hose. Once it reaches the burner, it works well. With the Exhaust Port on the Bottom, you have to raise the unit up to attach the exhaust hose, making it less stable. The flexible ducting for the heat is short and cheaply made.. It is really thin material and not really made to expand/open up. If you do so, the material falls apart quickly.

There was a leak in the dieseltank by the outlet, so a lot of spill on the floor. I had a big cleanup.used another tank and started up the heater.It works vell. I will think you need a quality control.
