I just finished this install on to my gas caddy. the tube inlet is 1 inch as stated , in-fact 1"NPT. how ever the gas caddy has a fine thread and a straight thread to boot. I considered cutting the threads off at first but then I thought what will I loose if I just rethreaded it to 1' NPT so I did and it works great. I only applied a normal wrap with Teflon thread tap. No leaks yet. One more thing you should use a self shutoff gas spigot. I found that the manual is a bit to slow to prevent a pretty wasteful over fill.
I recommend this as a solution to the manual crank pump as long as you are comfortable doing some rather easy modifications, and you have a friend with pipe threading tools, or even yourself.

I was skeptical since its less than half the price of other brands but I was tired of the hand pump. All in all seem pretty well built and does its job. Ill buy another one when needed

This thing can pump the fuel and fast with no problem and at ten feet lift less than two minutes to fill my 12 gallon tank
