Picked this unit for a number of reasons: 1st, it doesn't have a timer, which I don;t need. I just plug the unit to a smart outlet which I can turn on via my phone. The App can be programmed to turn off the power after a couple of minutes, which is all I need to get hot water to the shower. 2nd, the price is right. I have to buy the sensor valve, a couple of connecting hoses and a couple of 7/8 OD * 3/4 FIP brass adaptors. But all in I still spend less than half of a WATTS package. The unit is pretty quiet. It is working fine so far. Time will tell if the unit will last. Installing the unit is a big hassle. It's tough to make the FIP joint water tight. Teflon tape plus ordinary pipe sealant failed the first couple of times. Had to switch to a more expensive pipe sealant (RectorSeal #5) and used a generous amount to finally stopped the leaking. All said, I am happy with the pump.

Bought this and installed it. Works great!!! I have home assistant controlling the pumps on/off time. I now have instant hot water at all my top-floor taps, no more waiting for the hot water. I should have bought this years ago

Item was packaged well and was shipped via FedEx. Upon examination, I noticed that nothing was included in the accessories that provided a means of connecting the pump to my water heater. Water heater has a 3/4"NPT male outlet nipple and the base of the pump is also a 3/4" male NPT. They did provide a means to downsize their inlet/outlet sizes to 1/2" NPT, which was no help in my situation. A trip to Menard's to purchase a 3/4" stainless steel union for connecting the pump to my water heater solved the dilemma. So, be aware if you are considering this pump. Verify your connection point size on your water heater and be prepared to purchase a union. Once connected and running, it seems to operate as expected. Under sink connections were without issues. Their instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired and can be confusing. Fortunately the overall install went well once I had the union and studied the settings on the pump, carefully comparing it with the manual. We shall see how well it holds up. I purchased the 3 year warranty for $9 just in case. Customer service is responsive. Pictures show connection point of pump . . connection point on water heater . . . and union I purchased to make the connection.
