Ensio Difficulties with Mig-250 car welding

I have tied to weld my old car and new steel sheets with flux-cored and normal wire + mixet gass,
but big difficulties, because of holes; it burn very easely an hole to sheet.
I think that the reason is to high welding current !
I have measured the following with Universal- and clamb-meter :
Min ( voltage/ wire feed ) 3V / 40A and max 23/27V / 40 A.
How can I take down the current to 15 - 20 A ?
I have an old transformer "Kempak 150 T" and I am guessing that the current in the min position is something 15 A.
That old welding tranformer is on my summer cottage 125 km, so I do not have the reference figures.
