I needed a way to join metal foil to a large steel mandrel and conventional spot welders didn't have the opening so my options were the battery welders or the stud welder. Since I had no idea how much power I needed, I went with the stud welder. I found that I only need the lowest power setting (on auto) using the chisel tip to join 5-20 thou mesh and foil together or to a mandrel. I had to make a grounding plate using copper sheet with a hole punched into it for the grounding strap. The copper sheet was backed up with an aluminum plate and some 1x4 for rigidity. The harder you press into the parts, the better the weld. A lighter touch causes a lot of spatter and burns holes. Complete off-label use for an autobody tool but it works a treat. I suspect the battery electrode welder would have had enough power but I think the electrodes the stud welder came with are ultimately a better fit to the application.

Works good but instructions are vague doesn’t tell you how to use

This product was bad out of the box. Did not work and the ground strap did not weld to my work area as it kept beeping. Wish it would have work but it didn’t so I’m going to use another method. Going to return it.

Poor results for pulling aluminum dents, awful customer service

While I am happy with most of my Vevor purchases, I wish I didn't purchase this one. I ended up getting the 2 handle version that runs on 110 volts. While the manual shows the 90E model runs 220 or 110, it isn't switchable. The 110 volt version requires a 25 amp circuit breaker (as indicated by a sticker on the back of the device) hooked up to a 15 amp outlet (the cord on the device is a 15 amp plug attached to 14 gauge wire) to reach its potential, which violates code in the US. Support insisted that this meets safety standards. In usage it really makes the lights flicker. Only purchase the 220 volt version as it has a realistic current draw. Also skip the 2 gun option, the cords are so short it is a waste. On top of this Vevor would not issue an RMA to return this subpar product.

I can't use the dual pro stud welder for a week now because customer service won't send me the correct attachment. The triangle stud puller will not thread onto the slide hammer, so it's useless to me. Customer service is not willing to help fix their mistake.
