Josh Don't waste your time. Buy without the filter
This was a partial let down, I had picked this up to circulate and filter the air from the cabinet my 3d printer is setup In. I got the digital controller model so it can help maintain the temperature depending on what I am printing, and figured the carbon filter would help when I print volatile filaments.
To start, the fan it self along with the controller seem great. The fan moves lots of air when not connected and is extremely quite. 10/10 for that. I do still have to hook it up to my phone to test thay feature and am really hoping it works.
The filter is huge, and heavy. It seems really well packed with carbon. I don't have a air quality monitor to check its actual filtering abilities and haven't ran it in an environment I could check the reduction.. that being said.. there is an excessive amount of charcoal dust that comes off the filter when running. It looked like the filter was smoking for almost 5 min from all of the dust blowing out of it when first starting it. Then every time you bump it, it let's more out.
Now the major flaw.
When using the filter on the fan there is, im guessing atlest a 75 percent reduction in air flow.. im guessing its even worse than that though
The fan moves what is assume is the rated air flow on high. And I am completely happy with that. But will barely pull a kleenex when the filter is on. It is not usable at all. The filter is way too dense for this type of fan.
Fan and controller. Highly recommend.
Filter.. Hard pass.
Save your money, buy the same fan without the filter for alot less
