Rebuilt a Dana 60 for a friend recently and needed this specific type of of bearing puller, the name brand tools are $300+ for the same function you get out of this tool. It worked great and got me through the rebuild. I would show pictures but it won’t let me post it.

Works like a charm to get those carrier and pinion bearings off. Highly recommend getting one of these when setting up differentials. Reasonably priced and shipping didn’t take too long either. Quality item

Worked great on GM 8.6 carrier AND pinion bearings. Had to remove pinion bearing several times to get proper depth with shims and this tool made easy work if it! NO damage to bearings when used correctly. YES-this will work for GM 8.5 or 8.6 10 bolt rear ends.

I worked at a transmission shop for 15 years before opening my own. We had one of these back then but I thought they were much much more expensive and never bought one for my self. When I saw this one listed I stopped what I was doing and bought it, in the past month I have used it several times already. It is made with quality parts and easy to use. With the three collars there isn’t many bearings that this kit won’t fit. The simple fact that you can remove bearings ( and reuse them) that without this tool you would have to destroy is a game changer. No more late night runs to the store to get another bearing, no more unexpected costs of extra bearings. This is an amazing tool, I have already shared with my friends and several have bought it as well. There are not many tools that are a must have but this is one.

Tried this clamshell type pinion brg puller instead of the big name brand that costs 3-5 times more. I used it on Ford 9" pinion & it worked great and i had no issues at all. I believe this is a cost effective alternative that does the job as advertised.

Used to pull worn carrier bearings off a Dana 80 diff. One bearing required the largest breaker-bar I owned and 2 people to hold the differential, but the tool held up great and manged to pop the bearing off without showing any signs of distress. I definitely recommend this for pulling these larger bearings.

This is a must have tool while doing differential rebuild or installing different gears in you jeep diferential. Tool is very easy to use, works perfect everytime. You can put on and off bearings on the go when you are rebuilding your differential. Easy to use on dana 30&35 differentials. Don't forget to use enough grease on the threads so you dont damage them. Worth the money? Definetly YES. Build quality? Very good. Easy to use? Fu*k yeah! :D Would i recommend it? It's a very specific tool but if you are jeep builder who can do gears also? Then this is the thing to use.

Great tool for d30 and d44 so far.You have to set out both rings really tight before you fit over other half of clam shell. Otherwise you're going to wreck bearings. Works perfect for pinion shafts but for the carrier bearing with slip diff it is problematic, just because you have an oil plenum for lsd on one side and it's not possible to fit the tool over the plenum side of the carrier. So actually you will remove only one bearing from the carrier. No doubt it work perfect for open diffs. Well...none of toll of this kind will fit so it dosent really matter. Cut, grind and chisel out remaining bearing and watch for oil plenum not to get damaged. For this kind of money is superb toll to the collection. Make it lot easier rather than pratting about with hammers and drastic measures.
