Good Starter Anvil
60kg Blu
A great starter. The hardy hole is rough and oddly shaped, way bigger than tools you'll try to put in there. Otherwise it's solid, paint comes off easily if you don't like blue lol

When I drop a 1.25 inch ball bearing on it I get about a 90 percent rebound, and a nice ring! and I haven't put any dents in it yet. the horn is just the cast finish so its kinda ruff

This anvil does what an anvil needs to do in that it is a heavy block of metal to work hot steel on, and it's very reasonably priced. It has some shortcomings, however: 1) the horn is way too fat to be truly useful for fine blacksmithing; 2) the open belly sacrifices mass that would make the anvil much more solid if that void were filled; 3) the casting is poor, leaving the body with holes and porosity that gets covered with plastic body filler; and 4) the Pritchel (or punch) hole (the round hole) is in a completely useless position, and it is way too big. Instead of drilling it one-inch in diameter in the horn, drill it 1/2" to 9/16" in the heel, between the Hardy (square) hole and the end of the heel.

over all it is good, my only complaint is the the top has milling lines it is not a smooth finish. Other than that A+

66 lb London anvil
30 kg Modello London
The weight and general appearance of the Anvil was very nice.
Upon dressing the edges I noted some deep chips from the casting that took a bit to clean up. The Hardy hole had excessive metal I had to carefully sand out. This excessive metal was a bit above expected clean up.
I’ve yet to run my hammers and steel on it but it seems solid and my bounce test was very exceptable @approximately 80%
Time will tell how well it holds up but so far I am not disappointed in the general appearance
