Just got the aquarium setup and having problems getting the filter to take in water, When using the orange pump the water doesn't go into the filter, the water gets so far in the lines and when I stop pumping water leaves the lines. doesn't seem to have enough suction, I gave it a 4 as it was easy to put together but I not totally happy with it if it wont work

Been using for a month with a 24 year old red earred slider and so far the filter works great. Tank is super clear and way cleaner than with other filters. Start up was easy and I really like how I can use what filter media I choose. It runs super quiet. The only issue I have is the hoses are short. For a filter meant for 200+ gallons the hoses aren't long enough to reach both ends of the tank.

It is very well made. My only negative is the flow rate is a bit low. The outlet is only 24" head height. Its quiet and filters as designed.

This filter is on my 75g turtle tank. It has kept the water crystal clear for over a month and a half with one water change due to my error of dropping 7x the amount of food during a feeding. My only complaint is the hoses were not long enough to reach the far side with my setup. And spray bar seems weaker than I expected Very quiet, enormous amount of media and space for additional. Uv light seems to be controlling algae growth. Turtles are dirty so we upgraded to this size but essentially it's doing just as well as my fx4 on my 75g downstairs. I only rated 4 bc I think the attachments could be of better quality but are holding up fine.

Biggest problem with this filter is not being able to buy refills for it. Canister is in all shape, very difficult to find refill components when needed vevor should stock

Worked reliably for over a year, but if air gets in the line, the filter is not self priming and requires repriming. It will leak quite a bit of water when this happens. I keep all of my canister filters - even name brands - in a waterproof tub for this reason. This is not an uncommon problem, even with more expensive models. In the upside, the filter is exceptionally quiet which only presents a problem when it has air in the line and you cannot hear that it has stopped pumping. I did use this in a 29 gallon tank for which it is oversized, but most people recommend oversizing any filter if you want as many fish as reasonable. I would buy this again for a fish room or a more utilitarian setup, but not if it is for a major display tank or in a location where water in the floor would be a catastrophe.

This canister was oversold. Just adequate in filtration not exceptional like the claims. Wish I had left it in the warehouse.
