I bought this VEVOR fume extractor on July 7th to use with my xTool S1 laser engraver, which has both a 40W diode laser and a 2W IR laser. At first, I was very happy with it. The suction was good, it did a great job controlling smoke and odors, and it has been running without any issues until just a day or so ago. I have been replacing the top pre-filters as they become saturated and am currently on my third one. I expected those filters to need fairly frequent replacement, so that wasn't a concern. What I did not expect was for the main HEPA filter to apparently need replacement less than two months after purchasing the machine. I recently started noticing a heavy smoke smell while engraving, and now the extractor is beeping constantly. Based on the symptoms, I can only assume the HEPA filter has reached the end of its useful life. I knew the HEPA filter was a consumable item and would eventually need to be replaced, but I expected something closer to a 3–6 month lifespan, especially considering that I'm not running my laser every day. I generally engrave something only every few days. At roughly $100 per replacement filter, having one last less than two months is a serious concern. If that turns out to be the normal lifespan, I'm potentially looking at $600 or more per year just for HEPA filters, on top of the pre-filters. Maybe I received a bad filter, and I hope that's the case, because otherwise the ongoing operating cost makes this extractor much less attractive. When it was working properly, I was very pleased with its performance, which is why I'm giving it three stars rather than rating it lower. But needing a $100 replacement filter this soon is extremely disappointing. For a machine at this price point, I expected considerably better filter life. EDIT 9/14/2026 After spending the last couple weeks going back and forth with Vevor support, who actually reached out to me after my review, I am downgrading my review to 2 stars, I am only not giving it a one star because when it works, it works well, but Vevor's customer service/tech support is useless, Their answer was "it's a filter it wears out" well DUH, but at this price it shouldn't last less than 2 months, Save your money and go with a legit company instead of cheap chinese knockoffs.

The filter wears out very quickly; however, only the pre-filter is replaceable, and the main filter cartridge cannot be obtained anywhere. This makes it a single-use device: once the main filter is worn out, the machine itself has to be thrown away.
