Works well when it works, but got a small leak from the bottom after about 1 1/2 year of use, ultilizing about two full cycles per week.

It gets the job done. Tha wather is pure. The water in my area is quite hard and contains a lot of limescale, but the dispenser does an excellent job of filtering out these impurities.

I have used this 1750W distiller for over a year. (I sent the 750W unit back, too slow) I make about 4 bottles of drinking water a week. Our municipal water is bad tasting, very hard, and has chloramines added. I tried using fill-water from pre-softener, and was not as happy as post-softener water. I have a water softener, I use potassium, but I assume sodium would be similar in results. Our post-softener water is less hard but still tastes bad. My Hack was using 3 Liter Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice bottles. If you can lower your refill expectations from a gallon to 3/4 gallon, you'll likely be very happy with this unit. I fill my distiller unit to the 1-gallon fill-line with my soft tap water. I use the default time setting, 2:40, and it gives me a cup more than three liters in the pitcher, and leaves about a cup (just enough) of water at the bottom of the boiler to make it easy to clean. I clean with citric acid powder + 1/2 cup water every three or four bottles filled, because the solids do not bake to the bottom of the boiler. The 3-litre juice bottles are stiff, clear plastic, and have a sturdy handle. Trying to squeeze a whole gallon out of each boil will just cause the boiler to run dry or you may have to overfill it. And you'll need to change the time/temp each time you turn the unit on since the default setting will distill 3.3 liters of cool tap water in 2:40 without needing to fuss with the buttons. Just start and go.
