Works great as a water distiller, it was plug and play with no issues and the flow rate seems as advertised. I ran a vinegar & water mix first and also discarded my first product run out of an abundance of caution, but the output looked clean from the start. I suspect people who had "black bits" coming out in their first run failed to realise there's a charcoal filter already installed when it arrives (and it needs to be soaked before use). It pays to read the instructions. In its standard form it's too fast for alcohol distillation, 750W is simply too much heat and the temperature control only switches the element on and off, which just causes pulses in the run. When the element is off the distillation stops completely, and when it's on it will push the full 750W and cause your distillate to gush out again (so it's completely pointless to run it below full power). It does still work, as in you will get high proof spirits out of it, but the quality of the result will be very poor. But thankfully with a spare standard 3-prong IEC power cord (the kind used for some other kitchen appliances, or computers/monitors) and a voltage controller (~$40 AUD from Ebay/Aliexpress) you can turn this into a great spirit still. It seems happiest for spirits when dropped down around 110-115V which equates to 360W, and that effectively turns it into the Still Spirits Air Still that costs $380. The spare power cord is to plug the lid/condenser/fan assembly directly into an outlet, as you always want that running at full power and not off the reduced voltage. In my opinion using this with a voltage controller is better than having the basic Still Spirits Air Still, because you have the flexibility with this to smash through a stripping run in about an hour using the full 750W of power, but can then turn it down to half power for spirit runs. With the Still Spirits you're stuck at 320W which means much slower stripping runs and a voltage controller isn't going to help you with that. To improve on this Vevor set up you'd have to move up to the Still Spirits Air Still Pro which is $750.

The distiler is nice and the water is good and apreaciated by my family. Before using it I was worried about the taste but finally the taste is quite ok. And there is no odor. Probably the filters help with this. It is quite big. I was expecting to be smaller, like a caffe machine but is much larger as a 3.9 liters ( 1 galon) glass water lid fits inside. Great machine. I used it 4-5 times a week. I definetely recomand it.

Have bought 4 of these for our Aquacure50 machines and for general consumption, used multiple times a day for the past 4yrs. Fantastic product! Reliable, functional, set and forget, excellent quality. Water quality is the best.

Love this, I use lots of distilled water. It was definitely worthwhile. I normally set it up just before bed and it’s good to go when I wake up. I would love to explore other things it says it can do, but there are no instructions or recipes for distilling anything else.

Excellent distiller for making vodka distilled water essential oil oils. Works well and definitely worth the money.

I love this, easy to use fill with water turn on and forget about it for 3hours. I use it constantly, my coffee machine,my wife's cpap machine. Saves a lot of machine cleaning.

We have been using this distiller 2-3 times a day since we got it. Very easy to use. When it gets a build up, I just let it soak in about an inch of vinegar for a few hours. Don't use a harsh scratch pad on it....only non-scratch. I did purchase the extended warrantee since the distiller was so reasonably priced and I want it to last for years. The only thing I wish is that it came with an extra gasket...or with a way to order another gasket easily.

I use this item to distill water for my mist humidifier. If we use our tap water we get a fine white dust over everything. We have been using this item for over a month and we are getting no white dust. Very easy to use fill the unit to the full line and turn it on, it does the rest. This unit can do way more than distill water but I have not explored them yet.
