Overall, they were easy to put together. Took us about an hour to put all the pieces together. Make sure you have a socket wrench (it comes with one, but get a better or easier one) to really get it more tightened (as you need to hold the other end in place to really secure it.
The steel is made ok, they aren't filmsy but they aren't sturdy either. For the price, this is something that was of value. What we do to increase the sturdiness is to just put like a 40 lbs or 25 kg plate on one of the sides just so it doesn't move and it feels a lot more sturdy.
We've used it with athletes that weight 200+ lbs, and strapping 100+ lbs on standing on it while they do chin ups and step back on the boxes.

I bought these to help my daughter out with track & field and her high jump. Only thing that I would change would be to add weight to the base. Other than that pretty nice product.
