Great
Great 5
Excellent machine, I bought it with the intention of importing it to Colombia, South America, through a courier. and I am very satisfied with the product. It is solid, stable and very precise. One or another screw needs to be tightened, but everything is normal, Thank you very much, very happy with the product

I am used to much larger machines, so I consider this lathe "cute". Everything seems solid enough, it was delivered fast and packed well.

Very well protected for shipping and arrived with no damage to either the packing or the lathe itself. For a small lathe, this thing is very well made, has a bunch of nice features, and the version I purchased came with a very nice selection of tools so I was able to start using it almost immediately. I'm semi disabled, and a close friend helped my wife and I move it from the garage (where we uncrated it) to the basement workbench I had set up to receive it. After reading the manual we got it assembled and hooked up to power (I'm a retired electrician so that was set up prior to receiving the shipment.) I set up a piece of 1/2" round aluminum rod to practice setting up and turning and ran into what I thought was a problem. The lathe would not stay running when I pressed the "ON" button. NOT mentioned in the manual, but very necessary, the plastic shield MUST be installed and lowered over the chuck before the motor will run continuously after the on button is pressed. This needs to be addressed in the manual as some people (myself included) prefer to wear safety face shields rather than cover the chuck (I grew up in a machine shop and we never had shields on our shop lathes (much larger industrial types) so I didn't think to check for a sensor. When I did discover a loose wire in the electronics, I traced it back to the sensor on the shield's mount. After installing the somewhat flimsy plastic shield and lowering it over the chuck, everything worked great and I've been able to machine some custom parts I needed for additions to my my electric tricycle for enhancing my ease of control when riding it. It's a very nice and well functioning mini-lathe and it's hard to beat the price especially when a pretty decent set of cutting bars is included as well. The included small tool box is a nice addition as well, helps keep the bench from getting cluttered while working. If I needed more than one small lathe in my home workshop, I'd not hesitate to buy this one again. Jim S., Park City, KS, USA

Good hobby lathe
I really like this lathe and everything it came with I just have a problem with the fact that I didn't receive the model that I ordered and I don't know if the model I received is as good as the one I ordered. And because I didn't save my invoice and paperwork ont the crate I can't get a straight answer from customer service.

Benchtop lathe
Heavy enough to be useful. I think it's a cast iron structure. Used it for steel, stainless, and a bunch of brass. All smaller parts. If you expect to turn some large parts with this, don't bother. At lower speeds the torque just isn't there. I haven't verified the threading accuracy, but I haven't had a problem using that function for a power feed. It's quiet, good speed range, and has decent guarding. Heck of a deal in my opinion.

Descent for the price
Works as it should. Not bad for the price. Good for small projects but don’t bear down too hard as it will only handle so much pressure before stalling.

Pleasantly surprised
I had watched enough Chinese lathe videos to make my eyes bleed before landing on this one, which is my first purchase from Vevor - but won't be my last. The company profile, reviews, plus the fast-free shipping all sealed the deal. The lathe arrived in just a couple days, well secured in a wooden crate, and without damage. Thankfully I noticed the FedeX truck drive off as the driver had left it in the torrential rain, in the middle of the driveway, (just 4 feet from a large garage overhang), and within full view of anyone driving by. This was just 1/2 hour after receiving an email from FedeX that the lathe delivery would be delayed to the following day due to the weather. Not Vevor's fault! Lathe was well oiled, (not greased), and therefore easy to clean up. My particular lathe was properly tuned and had very little to no slop in all the areas that matter. The tailstock required a very small adjustment to line it up perfectly with the chuck. The chuck itself required disassembly and cleaning as it contained a lot of grit, but once cleaned it worked smooth as butter. Nothing was found to be loose or poorly made. The spindle runout measured at the faceplate was just under .0005", and the chuck runout at the OD was under .002". Impressive. The metal gears offer more confidence over plastic. The backlash between of all the gears installed on the lathe was set exactly as it should be, which made me even more confident that whomever put this lathe together cares about his/her quality of work. In reading the reviews of others, many comments need to be taken with a grain of salt. I've been retired 10 years now from a background of metal fabrication and have a lot of lathe experience (from a long list of different machines). For what this lathe is and the price it costs I would buy it again in a heartbeat. P.S. Why is this called a "wood" lathe?
