I've had several of these but not of this brand. Construction seems good, sturdy but light. This one has to water level marks, not sure why. If you fill to the first water mark it shuts off just before the external water tank over flows. If you fill the the second one, its more then the external tank can hold. Over all I like this newer model and will be purchasing a second one soon so I can make 2 gallons of water at a time.

Ok, first use: Noticed the button below the indicator light does not work but unit still works. Upgrade states metal fan, mine still has a plastic fan. Best guess on that is plastic gets soft with heat from system where metal will not. This is the first I have used this item and from what I have seen it is slow to produce distilled water but air temp around the unit can effect this. Basically since we are unable to purchase distilled water in our area (lately) for some reason at least we can now make it ourselves. More later on durability. As for to buy or not depends on your needs.

this product is working great and cleans easily

About 4 hours to make enough distilled water for my CPAP machine for a month. Lack of distilled water on the local market shelves. The say the medical profession is buying it up due to COVID.

Works well and as advertised. The glass container was damaged during shipping but i received a discount for the broken part. Over all happy and it does what i wanted

Could be better, but nice and simple design, get the job done. Use large amount of power 750W x 3 hrs for around 3 liter of water, that is around $1 for one jug, never try other brand so no idea if that is some that is more power saving.One thing I don't like is you can't add water in for continuous usage, you have to wait till it cool down and then open it to add water for another round. And it generate a lot of heat for as well, which is really good for winter, but not summer.

This machine was intended to replace the 16L of bottled distilled water that is consumed by my carnivorous plants and humidifier, and it has. The updated unit features ON and OFF switches and 4 filter pouches. In the initial cycle, the unit required 3hrs and 42mins to distill 4L of fridge-cooled water. Although there is an automatic shut-off feature, I will never allow it to run dry with sediment sticking to the bottom of the tank. The distiller includes a cleaning powder to remove any residue left behind from tap water, and it works well providing that the instructions are carefully followed.My only complaint is that water won't always pass through the filter quick enough to prevent overflowing the spout. When this happens, water will rundown outside the spout and everywhere but inside the jug. Positioning the filter on its edge will help improve flow. Overall, this is an excellent distiller.

We use ours 2-3 times a day. It takes about 3-3.5 hours for the 4L of water to distill. If you use hot tap water it takes less time. Clean water. Easy to clean the inside. It came with a cleaner, I haven’t used it. I just spray it with white vinegar when it’s still warm, let it sit and then wipe out.

We love it. I use it in my lab. Can't say enough good things about having distilled water on hand all the time.
