I was building a steel beam for a stilt house and was wondering how I was going to pick it up and get it into place. When I saw this I figured I would give it a try. The beam was about 15’ long made out of 2 2”x6” 1/4”wall structural steel tube welded together. It also had several 6”x4” 1/2” wall angle iron brackets welded on it.
I locked the magnet on, ran a chain through the loop on the magnet and around the bucket on my excavator. As I began lift I honestly did not think it would work. Mad was I wrong, it worked perfectly.
So glad I found this thing! Also works great for unloading steel plate. No more trying to kill myself. Simply lock the magnet on the top sheet and use the excavator to lift it right out of the bed of the truck.
Definitely recommend this for heavy lifting of steel!
