My first impression when I took it out of the box was not the best. It looked like it was built in someone's garage. I used it for a week while camping and it worked wonderfully. I placed four flat stones in the fire pit to support the legs and prevent it from sinking into the ash. Stacking the wood in a pyramid shape also worked well. The 20-inch model is portable and will now be a permanent addition to our camping trips.

Great product. I have a deep fire pit custom built. I would like the legs to be a bit longer because I need to raise the fire. It would be perfect (and would deserve 5 stars) if the legs were adjustable. To do this, I plan to get an L-shaped metal angle for the legs, drill holes in both it and the existing leg, and then bolt them together. This should allow me to adjust the height of the legs as needed. Have you ever thought about making a round metal basin, shaped like a pan, to collect all the ash and make it easier to empty?
