Last year we upgraded the windows in our home and we selected vertical window frames instead of the horizontal frames we had before, which prevented us from continuing using the horizontal window pet door we installed for our cats. So, obviously horizontal frame pet doors were out and we needed a new vertical pet door. This door offers precisely what we were looking for. The size is right, it’s very easy to install, looks solidly made with excellent materials and functions smoothly. The 8 1/4" width x 12 1/4" height has a flap built with premium metal hinges for smooth, reliable everyday use, and it’s sized for pets up to 40 lbs. The total height of this glass door can be adjusted from 75 7/8" to 80 11/16", fitting most sliding glass frames. Once installed, the entire door can be opened inward or outward, to allow moving large items in and out, when needed. This door has an upgraded design that creates a more comfortable, temperature-stable home. The high-density felt weatherstripping on both the inside and outside of the sliding glass pet door frame helps seal gaps and reduce hot and cold air intrusion into the home. Very happy with it and recommended.

J’ai.attendu un peu pour donner mon avis, et j'ai déjà une vis importante qui retient le haut qui règle la hauteur de la chatière qui est cassé. J'ai du trouver une vis similaire pour le bloquer car sinon.on ne peut tout simplement pas s'en servir, vu le prix je trouve ca déplorable. Such a Smart Use of a Sliding Glass Door What a freaking fantastic idea. So many homes have sliding glass doors, and this insert takes perfect advantage of one without requiring a permanent dog-door installation. It is well constructed, straightforward to install, and easy for pets to pass through. Our Shorkie is a bit of a scaredy-cat, so I wasn’t sure how he would react. Fortunately, the flap doesn’t have any excessively heavy, loud, or intimidating pieces swinging around his little head. He was surprisingly easy to train to use it and became comfortable passing through without much drama. My only moment of hesitation came when I pictured wandering into the house one evening and discovering that the dog had invited a raccoon—or some other unapproved woodland associate—inside. Thankfully, the pet door can be locked when it isn’t needed, so we don’t have to maintain an open-door policy for the entire local wildlife population. This is a clever, convenient, and nicely made solution for giving pets more freedom through a sliding door. We’re very happy with it.

I've wanted to install a dog door for a while, but I wasn't excited about cutting a hole in one of my exterior doors. This sliding glass door insert turned out to be a much better option. It gives my dog the freedom to come and go while avoiding a permanent modification to the house. The aluminum frame feels sturdy, and once installed, it fits securely in the sliding door track. I like that the height is adjustable, which made it much easier to fit my patio door than a fixed-size panel would have been. Installation wasn't difficult, although you should know that it does require drilling into the door frame to properly secure it. The flap itself is well made and swings smoothly. It's large enough for bigger dogs, and after a little encouragement, my dog figured it out pretty quickly. The metal hinges feel much more durable than the flexible plastic flaps I've seen on cheaper pet doors, so I expect this one to hold up well with daily use. One feature I didn't expect to appreciate as much as I do is the swing-open design. Being able to open the entire panel makes it easy to move larger items through the doorway without having the pet door constantly in the way. It's a thoughtful feature that adds a lot of convenience. The weatherstripping also does a respectable job of helping seal around the insert. I was concerned about losing air conditioning, especially living in Florida, but it seals much better than I expected. Like any insert-style pet door, it won't be identical to the original sliding door, but it does a good job minimizing drafts. Pros: sturdy aluminum construction, adjustable height for a good fit, large flap for bigger dogs, durable metal-hinged flap, swing-open design is extremely convenient, weatherstripping helps reduce drafts, avoids permanently cutting a hole in your door. I installed this large-sized pet insert into my 6x6 sliding door setup. It was incredibly easy to install, and the 180-degree swing-open design is a lifesaver when you need to open up the full doorway to move large furniture.I have two full-grown Shih Tzus who learned how to use the flap very quickly. However, because this model doesn't have a magnetic closure or an electronic collar-sensor lock, high winds will easily blow the flap open. I added extra weather stripping during installation to seal the frame sides. To fix the wind issue, I plan to manually add strong mini magnets to the bottom of the flap. This will keep it sealed against drafts while remaining light enough for my small dogs to easily push open.Overall, it is a durable, highly adaptable product that gives the dogs freedom, though you should expect to do some minor DIY sealing if you live in a windy area.

This door is a great solution for keeping our small sliding door accessible for human traffic while allowing dogs to “self-service.” Pro: nice appearance, customizable size works well for small sliding door, convenient 180’ door swing, seems durable, easy to replace door flap, original door flap is heavy (keeps flies/bugs out, keeps air conditioning and heat inside), adequate security features, gives dogs independence and saves me time, good value for the money Cons: original door flap is heavy (while also a positive feature, the heaviness of the flap frightened one of my dog and she wouldn’t use it. ) instructions are little confusing, door is not stable unless it’s bolted down, top and bottom latches are noisy when released, small gap persists and leaks air despite weatherstripping. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons for me. I am happy with the pet door and would recommend it to a friend.

Absolutely terrific customizable patio piece that serves as a perfect doggy door; easy to adjust and fit (and I love anything that one person can install). Very sturdy in place. Now, this will take some training for your domestic werewolf if they are not used to a doggy door, but I found the large opening is less threatening for the little dogs. Good instructions and a good look for something like this inserted into the patio door. Really clever and convenient for pets and humans alike.

It great when they swing for getting things in and out through the door

This is a great product. I bought a high-end brand previously and luckily they sent me the wrong size so it was an easy return. Having seen their product and comparing it to this--which is less expensive than the clearance price on the other--this wins by a mile. Made with quality materials and works as described. Not an easy install. It took me 3 hours and I have a background in office furniture installation. My advice, skip the instructions and just follow along with the video. 10/10 Highly recommend !!
