This is a good alternative to a popular brand that costs about $100. More. Ours needed some adjustments for the weight of our chickens, but they are doing well. We placed it in the main coop with our 7-week-old chicks just so they wouldn't be scared. We also weighted the pedal with some magnets so they could see the food. The training lasted about 2 weeks but it was worth it.

It seems that it should do the job. It's too early to say because the hens need to get used to it. We have a problem with other birds stealing the feed and this should solve it. It doesn't work for our hens! When they get on the platform, the lid lifts and scares them!

The product is made with good material, easy to assemble. I bought it so I wouldn't have to go to the chicken coop every day (15 hens) and to prevent food from being wasted by the rats. I installed it in the afternoon, putting a whole 25 kg bag of feed inside, and the next day the container was empty; the rats ate everything.
